Bolton was a great meeting, the Race office gave us some good well balanced and Challenging courses, making it a super day's Sail. But here is the challenge. Last race, who is going to own up to missing the 7-2 hitch in the run down the lake?? I Saw 1 boat come back, Well done, and 1 retired, But there were others!! Possible desperate due to being lobbed in the previous race, and the lambs following?? So the pigeons are waiting? are you brave enough to own up?

As the crew of the boat that retired i can shed no light on who else might have sailed the wrong course, even though they were not that far in front!
It didn't occur to us until several legs later that we might have gone wrong, but looking at the fleet behind there was no sudden increase in the gap as you would expect having missed out two - albeit short - legs of the course. The coversation (Or argument depending on interpretation!!) in our boat centred on the fact that we hadn't pulled away significantly.
We suspected at the time that others had gone the wrong way, but couldn't possibly protest because we weren't aware of going wrong ourselves and were unsure who to protest.
So if you knew better why didn't you protest?
