MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : 3646 nearly there!

Latest photo now online. Taken prior to trip to painting shed.

Fiance has promised to buy me a carbon boom, so am now looking for a loose foot mainsail.

Any one got an almost new one for sale? Or even full suit?
Can't afford too much - getting married next month.

Thinking of that. Nice new suit of sails as a wedding present?

Looks great Miles. I must admit I regret not going for the ribbon stripe deck. It gives it a beautiful finish. Congrats.
I'm busy finishing my rigging right now. Hope to be in the water next week!

Hi Miles

I've got a 2003 Speed Kevlar mainsail in VGC on the s/h lists, drop me an email if you are interested.

That looks really good - all that thinking time! I trust that you are going for the full sophisticated bit and will varnish the outside.

varnishing outside not really an option, construction method means that it would look like a current bun!

archimedian spiral removable clamps and epoxy!

so how does that make it look like a curant bun and what are those clamps like, sound complecated?

I think he means screws [Archimedean] which he then removed leaving a hole which was then goobered up and sanded down, hence the spotty residue!

I took the other route and made 80 wooden clamps for gluing the planks together. You can have 'em for the cost of shipping!

Peter, you should be able to spot them in picture.
