Just looked at the revamped design guide which someone has been working on when they should have been sailing.

Looks better but one thing occurred to me.  Either it should be re-named as guide to designers or should also be indexed by design.  As it currently stands, you have to know that Morrison designed the NSM whereas perhaps it should be the other way around as most people new to Merlins may be puzzled by a Let It Ride design and want to know more about it rather than knowing who designed it.

Also, how about a guide to builders (just the bones of what appears in the Yearbox would be a start - probably anymore would have to be added with care.

Sorry Mags et al as it means more work but it would be better.

I think a search facillity would make it alot more user friendly, as you could just type in NSM etc rather than either having to know who built it, or scrolling through all the pages. 

I've noticed there are quick links from the second hand boat page, so might this mean less work for mags?

Sounds good to me as Mags already does too much when he should be sailing.

A further thought that would probably involve a lot of work would be to have some line drawings showing the different hull shapes of the different designs.

maybe the design guide, archive or whatever else could be put on cd and flogged to members or included with annual membership. that way the mroa gains funds/covers costs and there would be less questions about archived matters already covered.
