MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : car killed by Merlin

Okay it's manslaughter really.
In the near future a minor icon of 70s circuit racing will go up for sale on e-bay- that is unless anyone cares enough to keep this ancient relic out of drag racer's hands.
Admittedly it's not actually a Merlin Rocket but it is/was the most unlikely car to very long-distance tow an MR in those days. That's what killed it; a bloody Phantom Kipper!
1954 Ford Popular PLK 906, noted by some at the time for being 'out of tune' with class ethos, i.e. cheap and f***ed, still with tow bar greased with MR lubricant, has, reluctantly to be sold. For goodness sakes it's killer was parked next to champion Panatella at the time so there must be some empathy. If anyone knows who might like such an icon to 'restore' please reply by e-mail. Facetious answers will be rebuffed! Photos of it under a pile of **** might be supplied. Location Cheshire.
