Can anyone give a definitive defintion(!!) of the "bare hull shell" as mentioned in the rules. As you're not allowed to stick carbon fibre on it,(whatever it is) I'm finding it fairly important trying to beef up 3165 "Panatella". The planking and outer keel is obvious, the hog and internal stiffening, isn't.

i asked the same question about bow tanks in carbon composite some while ago, but didn't get a reply - would be interested to know because we have spare carbon/foam/carbon available from another unrelated project.

Unless your planning on lapping Mike Calvert at the next silver Tiller event I wouldn’t loose sleep if the work your undertaking is for maintenance/repair purposes, but………………
Bare Hull Shell: Plank work Transom (Vertical face only) Case sides Outer and inner keelson/hog (Terminology dependant But basically the short wide piece of wood or material which caps the bottom garboard planks internally)
Anything else is fair game in carbon:
Transom capping. (As extension of deck) Fore tank aft face bulkhead & tank top. Centreboard case top capping and extensions of. Thwart. Vertical face and/or struts which might support the mast heel area on "hog stepped" boats. Decks and structure there of. Knees, Ribs, Supports.
