How do you chaps get the amazing shine on the decks of your FRP boats, mine has a dull look to it and does not look half as nice. Sorry, I know it is a bit of a tarty question.

G6 car polish and a polishing mop, or G3 and elbow grease.

new full gloss finishes are 'off the gun' spray finish, which is hard to emulate, but the cutting compound polishing method mentioned above can keep a quality finish shiny deck looking good. unfortunately, this will not make a good finish out of a poor one!

Be very careful of the ingredients in any polish you use, and avoid any containing silicon. These give a good finish, but if you have any damage to the deck in the future, they make it very difficult (read; impossible) to get the repair laminate to adhere to the existing structure properly. Someone told me this is because the silicon (and/or teflon?) bonds to the existing paint/gelcoat at a molecular level-ask a chemist for more info!

It's not tarty Tom, we all like to swagger into the boatpark with our newly varnished / painted yacht!
