On the website you can buy all the back issues, and the 3rd and final part is in our April issue, on sale 11th March. The website is undergoing lots of work, in conjunction with the RYA we are launching our Coaching Database at the Dinghy Show. Our plans are to include articles on line in the future. We are also running Coaching weekends at Weymouth and Grafham during April, details are on the website.

I think you'll find the boat belongs to the Porkins clan of Kingswood...

Deepy is spot on.
Krak is ours and has spent the last 20 years or so sitting in a garage in West Wales. We had always talked about giving her a makeover but always had other merlins to spend on. So last year we decided to bight the bullet and get on with it.
We went to Jamie Stewart(a good mate from my uni days, well mainly drunken uni evenings but thats another topic alltogether), Jamie had previously beautifully restored two Raters for Dad and his uncle Ozzie so we were sure he would look after Krakatoa and re invigorate her for us.
We spent a fair few evenings in the local Chinese and after a few weeks we felt that we had a plan...... Those of you who have read the articles will know what we decided, for the rest.......
We wanted to bring her back to her former glory (there is still a little way to go but she is getting there). We are having her deck stepped and re decked with other bits and bobs done along the way.
She will live at Hampton but I hope to bring her along to some of the classic events later in the year.
For the moment Jamie is still weaving his magic we all await with baited breath, there is another installment in Dinghy Sailor next month.

Yep Krak was there with Jamie at the helm.
He did really well, the baot looked beautiful and went really well 16th out of 46 in one race not bad for a 40ish year old tub!
