20 boats.

Lovely sail.

Andy Harris first, William Waren second.

Lots of pictures on the ranelagh computer, don't know if they get published anywhere.

Was there any wind then? or was it dead?
Did you sail?

Yes I crewed Natt, there was plenty enough wind, we came 8th,

Hywell Perkins came 7th.

Dont know were they got the John from Its Colin Brockbank
Really enjoyed the sail but a tad short, think we only sailed for about 1 hr 20 minutes
I now know Fulham football ground is the place to go against the tide
How can you look left from the clubhouse and see Wembley stadium rising, should call it Heathrow stadium
See you all at Cookham

All a bit easy actually - next year I might really try and see if I can lap the lot of you!

Sorry that comment was not posted by me !!

Although it was all rather easy and I did get a bit bored towards the end, luckily Sara volunteered to helm the last couple of laps while I had a kip in the bottom of the boat.

Were you asking me Natalie? I was counting off the back of the fleet. There were 4 or 5 boats finishing behind me, Richard Page and ace crew finished ahead after reconstructing the boat and starting again. I think there are issues with the long carbon-fibre hog-stepped mast,transom-sheeted rig that Mervyn has fitted on Elusive now and I couldn't get the boat to point or even go at any speed to windward. I don't think it was me as we were OK downwind, at least hung onto aforesaid Richard P all the way down a run & the problems got worse as the wind piped up during the race. Still, definitely the best conditions I have sailed in at Ranelagh for some while if you discount the air and water temperature! We had a near miss at capsizing when the centreboard came up & I now remember just what a brilliant roll you can have in an NSM2 downwind especially after a rusty gybe with the spinny all wrapped up all over the place.

Andrew (definitely not Harris)

I retract all my previous comments posing as Andy Harris on the Forum and apologize to Andrew and everybody else reading this thread.

To be honest, I have always been envious of Andrew and could not help myself from trying to belittle his achievement.

Apologies once again

I have more pictures. Please email me with details of your boat and I'll send them on.
Is anyone doing a report for these pages and Yachts & yachting? I have already sent in some pictures.
