Mike, as far as I know the trend is mainly self catering. There are places to grab breakfast if you can't be bothered to open a packet of cornflakes. Bed and breakfast has the disadvantage (or maybe advantage) that your hosts live in normally, which restricts your ability to host a house party or to roll in drunk with some mates at 4 a.m.
