Blithfield S.C. Details Address: Waters Lane, Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, WS15 3DU Region: Midlands 01283 840464 www.blithfield.org.uk Directions: Access to the club is from the B5014 one mile south of Abbots Bromley village. The club is signposted to the West side of this road (lane adjacent to a group of cottages). Follow the lane 0.5 miles to a gateway on the left marked "South Staffordshire Water Company". Turn onto the reservoir's private roadway, past the water board offices and take a sharp right hand turn into the club.We have about two dozen Merlins, 3 or 4 new or nearly new boats with several older Tales designs and also a number of "Modern classics". The competition is keen throughout the fleet and the standard high at the front with former national champions and Silver Tiller winners mixing it with those who travel the Midland Circuit. Whatever your ability and experience there will be someone for you to sail against!
The water is large with 180 acres in summer (300ish through Winter), and the exposed location gives good breeze from most directions. We race on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, Handicap racing takes place at 12:00 on Sunday and 19:00 on Wednesdays through Summer, and we have two class races at 14:00 and 16:00 on Sundays.
We have a large clubhouse, well stocked bar and probably the best showers in the midlands!
For further details please contact the fleet rep or speak to one of us at an open meeting.Map: www.blithfield.org.uk/location/
