The first round of the 2016/17 Blithfield Barrel series is to be sailed this Sunday (13th November). Over the years it has proved to be a popular event for Merlins. Two races per day (12.00 & 14.00) with 2 starts for each race with the split at PY1013 so Merlins in the 1st start - with the hot shots in the 2nd start only 3 minutes behind. £40 for the 4 day series or £15 per Sunday. No need to pre-register - just turn up. Cooked meal available at 'half time'. Forecast looks OK

Just to reinforce, this is a super hot series for Merlins in the frozen Midlands - last year there were 28 Merlins in attendance. Plenty of rockstars representing some other classes too...

final round is this Sunday. plenty of wind forecast so we will be working hard and hopefully keeping warm..... 15 quid day fee. The January round was cancelled due to a complete lack of wind, so after four races sailed, Christian Birrel & Tom Pygal (Merlin) retain their lead. The best of the rest being lead Chris Gould 2nd (osprey!!) and Caroline Croft 3rd leading the rest of the merlin. should be fun... and there is beer to be won!
