Dear Everyone,
I need to buy a new cover for my boat since the existing cover, (circa 1972!) has finally given up the ghost. The cover has no markings to suggest who made this but there seems to be a yellow badge sewn onto it with two pyramids in the middle. Had anyone any idea who made this? Based on the durability, they must be worth going to? Many thanks,
Chris

Seconded (or thirded!). They have patterns for a number of Merlin designs and will add any extra loops, eyes, etc, that you might want.

Chris, Sounds like a Bruce Banks cover. I would send it back to them and ask them to replace it or return your money! 39 years, its just not good enough!

Don't think it was a Bruce Banks cover Barry. The two triangles were next to each other (twin peaks!) and were coloured red. Quite agree that covers should last more than 39 years-things just aren't made to last-except for Merlin Rockets and their crews! Trust you and yours are all well. Chris

I believe it may be a Goldfinch cover - they certainly had a yellow badge.
I recently bought a new boat cover from Frank Rowsell and it is an excellent, though not sure it will last 39 yrs.

I have just looked at this subject and intially thought this would be something to do with converting Merlins into drachmas! I had never thought of boats as being a convertible currency as they tend to make a bit of a bulge in the back pocket.
As someone once said "You won't get many of them to the pound".
