Topic : An end to steam bending?

Cold-bendable wood? Could you really build a boat from it?

Will this mean replacing ribs on vintage Merlins suddenly got much easier?!

The article states " It is recommended that compressed wood is used only where there is no risk of wetting or high humidity, though some protection can be achieved through the use of coatings and sealants".

So may be not a good idea!

The article also shows a picture of a boat!

Guess it needs a decent epoxy coat to be sure...
