At the end it was very tight. Only realised just how tight when I saw the scores on the doors. First time I had looked as doing so badly, had little interest in seeing where we were. Better last day though with a few minor changes. Tom did very well and extricated us a couple of times. First few teams sailed a very close regatta in very testing conditions. Interestingly, there seems to be little if no difference between North and DS B14 sails in the conditions experienced. Other than the Anthill Mob (22 st) that won, the other three speedy boats were running big head mains. 1, 4, 6 were running LGM05 North class standard (medium head) sails. Looks as if it will be an interesting summer as Hydes are also getting there as well. The Europeans look to be very tight in August. Hopefully, I'll have left the pills behind by then!

Don't worry Ross the glass cabinet just got filled up so no pressure!
The scoreline doesn't do justice to the close racing throught the event, we were never comfortable, especially when we woke to boat breaking weather on the last day.
Great racing in the full range of wind conditions and directions and an amazing turnout - I'm looking forward to similar numbers for the merlin champs in Whitstable this summer, so get your entries in! http://www.bestchampseverever.com/
