MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Midland S C Silver Tiller - 22nd March

The first Restricted Water Silver Tiller event of the season, will be at Midland on 22nd March. The reservoir is full and the race team and galley staff are ready to go. We probably have the largest Merlin fleet in the area and hope to turn out a dozen home boats. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible from near and far on the day.

This is also the first Midland Circuit open meeting of the year, so there should be a bumper turnout from local clubs. The main prizegiving will be followed the Midland Circuit prizegiving for the 2008 season.

If there is any information you would like, or if you need any help, please contact Mike Anslow on 01675 470147.

See you on the 22nd!

Testing day, but excellent fun. Winners were Matt and Rob. Richard Whitworth and Sally Townend were second, and Mike Calvert and Chris Robinson third.

Hoping to have some photos very soon and will send these to Mags to go with the report.

Thanks to everyone who supported the event.

Are 2nd and 3rd places correct as it appears both should have 4 points and Mikes discard is better than Richards ?

By: .
Indeed it looks like someone can't add up as Mike & Chris have 4 not 5 points (two 2nds). However Richard's first puts him ahead of Mike correctly.

Indeed you are correct. Mike and Chris did score a total of 4 points, but Richard and Sally had a first which gave them 2nd overall.

Apologies for the incorrect transfer of information from the paper record.

Not quite, Mike and Richard both have 4 points but because Richard has a race win that put's him in second place overall, ahead of Mike in third.

HI all

After several days of looking through sailing bags, etc. we appear to have lost a set of Volvo car keys while at the Midland meeting. I don't suppose anyone found them? If so please Email me

Err...isnt that how the results were originally? Or was the only correction to make the number of points (4 not 5) ?!!!

Hi Mags,

Just to confirm, Mike Calvert's total points should read "4". I'll copy the amended results sheet to you and to others who might need to see it.

Hi Dave,

I will probably be down at the Club this afternoon (Friday) and will have a look for your keys. I'll let you know how I get on.

Unable to help Dave C with his car keys. However,a pair of prescription glasses in a hard case and a snazzy pair of shades were left at the Club after the Silver Tiller meeting. Any takers?
