Ian, San Pan is a Wide Superstition built by Anderson Rigden and Perkins LTD in 1971.
In 1988 she was registered to F Robinson 787 Belmont Road, Bolton, Lancs. I have no record of it since then. It does not appear to have been in the top end of the fleet in its early days but there was alot of boats about in those days!!

She was first called 'AGGIEV' and was owned by P.N.W. & O.R.Blenkiron, Path Cott., Old Town Lane, Formby, Lancs and West Lancashire Y.C. The 1973 YB shows the name changed to 'SAN'S PAN' and the owner as Mrs S.A.Taylor, 11 Shaftesbury Ave, Bostock, Bolton, Lancs. The 74 YB shows her at Bolton S.C. There was another owner in 1975, J.A. Flanagan, 797 Belmont Rd, Bolton at the same club and the name is shown as SAN'PAN. The 1977 YB records the owner as K. Ball 163 Red Lane, Bolton and Bolton S.C. In 1982 she was owned by D. Hurst, 112 Tetbury Drive, Bolton and still in the same club. She seems to have changed her owners quite often but didn't move far as the 1984 YB shows the owner as F. Robinson, 787 Belmont Rd, Bolton and Bolton S.C. It was in that year the name was first shown as SAN PAN. The year books appear to record no more owners after that.

Thanks for the info, guys. I bought her from Blackburn this time last year. I re-fitted her and re-painted her in time for the season at Loch Tummel where she still turns heads especially in her yellow and black stripes. After a quick bit of maintenance over the last few weeks we are now doing the winter series at Royal Tay and, sailing on her vintage handicap, came a respectable 4th last week.

What does SAN PAN mean or refer to then? Am I too young to have heard of whatever it is (oh please oh please)?
