For those of you who may be considering a holiday in the UK this year, can I remind you that the second Scottish Travellers' Event will be at Chanonry near Inverness on 4/5 August. For those who don't know it, this is probably the best piece of open water in the UK, no significant tides, two miles wide and four miles long with low ground all round. There will be three races on each of the two days, and we hope to get a Merlin start using the class handicaps.
As encouragement, can I offer: - midges are not a major problem on the East Coast - as part of the Year of Highland Culture there are several major non-sailing events a fortnight either side of that date, including Elton John concert (I didn't know he was a Highlander, either) - I will find off-street parking for any boat, if you want to go and tour before or after - more castles than you can shake a stick at - Nessie has been 'seen' twice this year already.
Any questions - ask.
