| 206_manhandling_spinnaker.jpg | Richard Winter | It is definitely Ossie (though I believe it may have been Ozzy) Rissen of Thames Ditton. He purchased 758 a Rigden boat for his daughters and later became mine for many years. Wogs was the nickname of his wife. | 30 May 2010 12:04 |

| mast_gate.jpg | Daniel Cantrell | I recently bought a rocket(Sail No 2692)& its got an adjustable strop around the mast at deck level. I slackened it off last time I went out to try and de-power the rig. I also messed about with other settings though - put mast foot and shrouds close to middle settings. It messed up the handling quite a lot... although my rudder floated up twice and I suspect that it may also have been slightly up all the time! I capsized on the first leg of the race. Normally I manage at least one buoy before getting dunked. Lots to learn, but its fun playing with all the adjustable stuff! | 15 March 2010 19:03 |
| round_hoop_carbon.jpg | Steve Pyatt | You can get carbon ones from any windsurfing shop. they are boom ends from adjustable booms. I got one from my local shop here in NZ for $10 and now half the fleet of Zephyrs have them as shop shops even give away the 2nd hand ones. Very strong and just the right shape. Why is an NZ Zephyr sailor on your site?...Just checking up on my old class from the 1970s! Best Wishes, Steve Pyatt | 23 February 2010 08:02 |
| strongback_purchase.jpg | Mags | A 3:1 and a cleat lock the strongback to the trailer. This is better than just using a strap, as it cannot compress the boat (the bar keeps the tension downwards, not inwards). | 03 February 2010 10:02 |
