Tales designs for Nick Aubrey to produce a boat able to carry more weight in light airs.  Ron reckons he has altered the designs enough to come out under his own label. Two boats were built to this design in 1992.

This design is a development of Laurie's earlier Smarty Pants design.  If you compare it to the Canterbury Tales you will see quite a number of differences.  Starting at the bow the stem is lower and the garboard planks are flat further forward.  The rocker is different to allow a narrower waterline all through the boat and the run aft is narrower with more buoyancy low down.
